I am proud of my project and how efficiently I completed it through consistent focus, time, and effort. One of my personal goals was to stay disciplined, avoid procrastination, and fully commit to learning throughout my project, and I successfully achieved it. My project pushed me to work independently while managing my life effectively, which was easy, as my whole life outside of school and work is related to firearms. Through my research, I learned about international arms trafficking, but also the daily challenges faced by local and global firearms businesses. This especially became meaningful when my father obtained his FFL and SOT—allowing me to see the complex legal and regulatory process involved in selling and acquiring firearms firsthand. Witnessing this process helped me understand how laws, supply, and compliance requirements affect gun store regulation. Along with studying international arms systems, I developed valuable business and communication skills. I learned how to speak more professionally, build relationships, and communicate effectively with business owners. Creating YouTube videos about different firearms was an enjoyable and valuable experience. I benefited greatly from conversations with individuals working in gunsmithing, firearms sales, and exports, including Todd Homan, whose insights further influenced my understanding of the industry. As a result of my project, I am now pursuing a career in gunsmithing. I successfully met all of my original project goals to my own standards and gained knowledge and real-world experience. Overall, my project has been a source of growth, skill development, and pride. It reflects my strong interest and dedication to the firearms industry. My learning stretch was learning to communicate quickly and effectively without wasting time. Something I got very good at that helped me build my professional contacts very quickly. Another thing I learned is how fast you gotta be able to change plans and how it's not as easy as it looks. It is better to keep things simple rather than to complicate the plans for your own pride. Another stretch was learning how to make YouTube videos. It was frustrating trying to film and make the videos the way I wanted. Using iMovie to upload the videos to YouTube was definitely challenging and time-consuming, though I did eventually figure it out. Overall, my learning stretches were small because they were all skills I had learned before, and I blew through the complications very quickly. Guns and Christianity are every red-blooded American conservative's dream. At the same time, I didn't incorporate religion into my project in the slightest on an outreach level. I believe that praying against procrastination and believing my project would be easy made it easy. Without God, I think my project wouldn't be the same, and I would have been more stressed while working on it. The legacy I leave behind is that I am the kid who took guns to school, played top golf after an NRA museum field trip, and took students to the shooting range. Most importantly, my project gave everyone a new perspective on guns. With my PFL, I hope to educate everyone about the corruption that allows firearms to flow into the wrong hands and how to handle and clean firearms properly. My legacy is that guns aren't just pieces of metal; they're tools that can have a significant impact on the world.
