After School Classes I led several after-school classes where I taught students about firearm safety, history, operation, and maintenance using examples like the AR-15, AK-47, surplus rifles, and shotguns. These classes helped me practice teaching, explaining complex topics clearly, and sharing my knowledge of firearms and shooting sports with others.
NRA Muesum Field Trip I organized and led a field trip to the NRA Museum, where students explored the history of firearms from early matchlocks to modern guns and saw displays connected to presidents, wars, and popular culture. After the museum, we also went to Topgolf, which made the trip both educational and fun while teaching me valuable lessons about planning and organizing group events.
PFL on International Arms Trafficking For my PFL on international arms trafficking, I organized a multi-station presentation where teachers and classmates covered gun laws, firearm basics, and reloading, while I focused on explaining trafficking and its real-world impacts. The presentation helped others learn about the global arms trade and gave me valuable experience teaching complex topics and answering in-depth questions.
All School Seminar Gun Control Debate For my All School Seminar Gun Control Debate, I presented on U.S. gun laws, explaining how they work at the federal, state, and local levels, with a focus on Pennsylvania. I used a slideshow to define key legal terms, ran a four-corners activity to help students form opinions, and then led a guided discussion between Mr. Jones and Tyler using prepared questions. Overall, I think the seminar went well and helped students better understand the complexity of the gun debate in the United States.
Shooting Range Trip to Shenecoy Sportsman For my Shooting Range Trip, I brought a small group of classmates to Shenecoy Sportsmen to shoot trap and wobble trap. Even though it was very cold, everyone had fun, learned new skills, and improved their shooting, which made the trip worthwhile. I appreciated the range staff staying open for us and enjoyed helping others gain confidence and experience with shooting sports.
